2008-09 School Year

It is that time of year again!  Right now we are accepting enrollments for the 2008-09 school year.  If you are interested in being ready to start schooling by the end of August we have room for about 100 more families this year.   The space is being snapped up quickly so we do encourage all to enroll and return the assessments as soon as possible.  The fastest way to enroll is through the internet or over the telephone.  There is a waitlist available for families who understand they will be ordering their books in September (or later if they don't plan on returning the assessment tests by July 20th).

Getting the assessment testing done before the summer crunch season allows for a much more relaxed planning period on your part as well as allows your advisor to assist in identifying what is necessary to accomplish in your current school year.  While enrollments are accepted at any time of year, now is the best time to order your family's assessment packet for the 2008-09 school year if you are hoping for a Fall 2008 start date.

As soon as we receive your enrollment application and enrollment fees (or at least the first payment if you opt for the payment plan) we will mail out the assessment packet.

Assessments are evaluated on a first received, first processed basis.  The evaluation turn-around times get much longer during the homeschool planning and conference season of May through August.  If you have a conference or a set start date for your schooling in mind we recommend you complete and return your assessments well in advance -- seven to eight+ weeks in advance is best.

Keep in mind that these evaluations and curriculum guides are completely personalized for your family.  Our assessments are not fill-in-the-bubble, standardized tests but rather skills assessments we have designed to appropriately evaluate  each student's academic strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles.  Your advisor will be reviewing each assessment personally, not feeding it through a machine for scoring and national percentiles.  Our curriculum guides -- which consist of book ordering information, course notes, pacing recommendations, and weekly lesson plans* -- are designed from top to bottom for each student with the family's cyclical history and science focus in mind to encourage family-style homeschooling.  The curriculum guides are definitely not a "school-in-a-box" product.  While we understand that it is often hard to wait for the results of your assessments we promise that your patience will be rewarded with a well-designed, completely personalized, comprehensive academic plan for your family.  It is worth the wait!

*Lessons plans have been developed for courses that do not already have their own pace and plan of study included.

"How do we enroll?"
Enrolling is easy!  You can 1) print out an application and mail it in with your enrollment fees, or 2) fill out an application and pay online, or 3) call our office to enroll over the telephone.

"How long is our enrollment good for?"
The 2007-08 school year runs from January 1, 2007 through July 1, 2008.  The 2008-09 school year runs from January 1, 2008 through July 1, 2009  Enrollment covers assessment evaluation, curriculum planning, year-round advisor support, and optional report card services for one grade level.  While we whole-heartedly welcome your traditional, non-traditional, year-round, planning around a new baby, transfer, early-start, or late-start school schedule the enrollment fees and expiration date of July 1st are standards set for every family and cannot be altered.
